GEMARIAH INTERNATIONAL MINISTRIES - "MADE PERFECT BY JEHOVAH"
Memory Verse
Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.  1 Corinthians 6: 19-20

Hey Listen Up! You think that being a kid is just plain old boring? A lot of kids seem to think that being a grown up is a lot of fun. There are great things about being a kid. You get to play for hours, do lots of new and exciting things, and you dont have to worry about much at all. The Bible tells us about Joash, who was a kid. He was crowned king when he was seven years old. At that age most kids are just learning to write. Joash had a big job, sitting on the throne, making grown up decisions with the help of the high priest Jehoiada. I bet there were times he wanted to go out and play but couldn't. So you see, being a big person isn't easy. The best thing about Joash is that he loved God and wanted to please Him and follow all of God's laws. Read along about the young king Joash and find the courage to do all that God has called you to do, even at the young tender age you are now!!

Joash Repairs the Temple
2 Chronicles 24:1-13
Joash was 7 years old when he became king, and he reigned for 40 years in Jerusalem. His mother name was Zibiah from Beersheba. Joash did what was right in the sight of the Lord all the days of Jehoiada the priest. Jehoiada took two wives for him, and he became father of sons and daughters. Now it came after this that Joash decided to restore the house of the Lord. He gathered the priests and Levites and said to them, " Go out to the cities of Judah and collect money from all Israel to repair the house of your God annually, and you shall do the matter quickly." But the Levites did not act quickly. So King Joash summoned Jehoiada the chief priest and said to him," Why have you not required the Levites to bring in from Judah and from Jerusalem the levy fixed by Moses the servant of the Lord on the congregation of Israel for the tent of the testimony?" For the sons of the wicked Athaliah had broken into the house of God and even used the holy things of the house of the Lord for the Baals. So the king commanded, and they made a chest and set it outside by the gate of the house of the Lord. They made a proclaimation in Judah and Jerusalem to bring to the Lord the levy fixed by Moses the servant of God on Israel in the wilderness. All the officers and all the people rejoiced and brought their levies and dropped them into the chest until they had finished. It came to pass about whenever the chest was brought to the king's officer by the Levites, and when they saw that there was much money, then the king's scribe and the chief priest's officer would come, empty the chest, take it, and return it to its place. Thus they did daily collect much money. The king and Jehoiada gave it to those who did the work of the service of the house of the Lord; and they hired masons and carpenters to restore the house of the Lord. So the workmen labored, and the repair work progressed in their hands, and they restored the house of God according to its specifications and strenghthened it

What Does That Mean?
If you have given your life to the Lord Jesus Christ, you are a son or daughter of the King of kings. That is even better than having the job as the king of Israel. Being a follower of Jesus means you have Him living in you heart. You want to follow all of His laws and please Him in everything you do and say. Our bodies are the temple of God and we must glorify God in our bodies. We repair our temples daily by praying, reading the Bible and obeying everything in it. We must be careful not to allow evil things into our spirit that can ultimately damage our bodies, which, as we mentioned before, is God's temple. Don't watch evil things on T.V, no wicked music, and don't participate in evil activities just because kids your ages are doing it. Give all you have to the Lord for this pleases Him. You can give money to help spread the gospel, you can sing praises to God, tell other kids about God, and or simply be a good example to those that are watching you. Then you too will be like Joash, the young king, and repair the temple of the Lord!!!!

Youth, Go Forth
Youth, God called you because you are strong. With God in the midst nothing can go wrong. He equips you with the gifts and the fruits of the spirit. So do not be afraid, let the devil hear it. Let no man despise your youth. Do what God has commanded you to do. God has ordained you, this is your special call. So let God be glorified and magnified in it all. You have to be confident and do what you are told. You see God uses the YOUNG as well as the old!
